Zero to Skin

When it comes to editing skin, this image is a good example in that “we don’t always get it right” during a shoot. In this challenging edit, the first thing I do is smooth her forehead wrinkles and spots with the patch tool and most importantly, the liquify tool. Next, I adjust the eyebrow shape to remove some of her concerned expression and adjust the eyes – all without changing what she looks like.
For her skin tone, I used a selective color layer to change her skin (and the background) to create a more pleasing tone overall. Finally, I used my Skin Smoothing Action to smooth her skin and relax her expression for a more cheerful look. I finished everything off with color balance layers and a curves adjustment layer to soften the background and create dept. Yes, when it comes to editing skin, you can get it right.
