Magic in the Forest
Spend a few hours with me in the forest where I will show you how to create Magic. I will teach you how to find the light and use it. I will demonstrate how to connect with your child subject and control the shoot. I will show you how to style for the appropriate environment. Most importantly I will help you understand how to harness your vision and show the world YOUR magic.
Segment 1: Styling for the Shoot. We choose the wardrobe together while I explain what works. You join us at hair and make up and we prepare our child model for the day. Here you will meet my team that I work with regularly and participate in our interactions.
Segment 2: Pre-Shoot Lesson. Before we head out to the forest, you join me and and a small group of attendees as we discuss all the whys and hows of this business and how to find your voice and translate your vision.
Segment 3: The Forest Shoot. We work in the forest right before sunset which is my favorite time to shoot. I demonstrate how I find and harness the light, how I pose and connect with my subjects. I will go over my settings and why I have chosen them. You get to watch me work with individual in-person students while we focus on a variety of topics.
Segment 4: Editing in Photoshop. At the end of the day we’ll finish up while I demonstrate my editing workflow. We conclude with the perfect examples of how to turn your vision into beauty.

24 Reviews for Magic in the Forest
“I think this was my first Meg workshop purchase, and I am pretty sure I paid full price. It is worth every penny, even if you don't have a coupon. All of the skills here are applicable to so many areas. It's not just the beautiful images in the forest, it's how Meg interacts with models, posing, etc. The BEST thing I learned here was how to look for the light. I was a "oh yay it's cloudy the light will be soft today" shooter. I never ever thought to look--where is your light coming from? I could watch this 20 times and still learn something new. This is a must have”

“If you struggle at all with finding the right light, THIS is the workshop for you. Meg explains how to locate the best light to place your subject in. You also get to watch how she poses two small children and one older child. During the editing portion, she discusses how to achieve beautiful skin tones and she also does one edit entirely with the curves tool. There is a goldmine of information in this workshop and will prove to be a valuable tool in anyone's photography journey.”
— Jennifer Nevins
“I am shooting weddings for years and I was looking into Meg's workshop because I love her work. I don't shoot many sessions of this kind but I am more and more interested in this type of photography. She has a great vision and an eye for fine art photography her clients will treasure for a lifetime. The knowledge she shares is priceless, it takes years to achieve this level of creativity. Highly recommended workshop, will come back for more.”
— Florin Tilinca
“I don't really do reviews and, to be honest, I watched this workshop a long time after it was filmed. But man...I wish I hadn't procrastinated. Meg talks out her entire thought process while she's working. Have you ever wanted to be able to shadow a photographer as they work? Then this is the workshop to watch. Have you wondered why photographers place their subjects the way they do? Why is one location better than another? Where is the light? Where do I place my subject? How do you chase light around the forest? It seems like such a crazy overwhelming thing. But just listen to her. And then watch it again and listen. Maybe watch a third time. Seriously. There is a ton of information in here and a lot of my questions were answered. I'm off to watch it again because I might just learn what I was missing.”
— Catherine Lapin
“Loved this workshop, in fact I think its the best one! Meg gives much more info in this one than some of the others. Just little randoms things that really help a girl out! I really appreciated the styling tips and Meg's honesty about using less expensive items to achieve similar results. It's great that this type of shoot isn't out of reach of the average person with a limited budget. Thanks so much Meg!”
— Leah Hinds

“Magic in the Forest is absolutely exceptional. The amount of information and content in this workshop is worth so much more than the price tag. I have quite a few Meg products and this one is absolutely the best that I've seen so far. If you don't have this gold mine and you're debating on what to buy, I'm just going to tell you that this one is a treasure. In addition to bursting with technical information and tricks, you see SO much of Meg as a person and vulnerable human being. This is the "light bulb moment" video for me, and now I get the obsession! (I say that having already spent many hundred dollars on Meg products 😂) For those who are looking to improve their shooting, vision, general photography knowledge, connection to Meg, knowledge of Meg's decision-making and process, and editing, THIS is a magical video. I see so many people ask questions of Meg (in her MBL Facebook group) that are answered in this video! If you have some money in your education budget to spare and are looking for more, this is the one for you.
In the name of Meg,

“Out of all the tutorials that I have purchased from Meg Bitton Live, I have found this one to be the most helpful to me in regard to posing and editing. I frequently re-watch it to pick up subtle hints. Regardless of the genre you shoot you will pick up many things that are relevant to all areas of photography. Loved it and would not be without it in my kit of workshops. Thanks Meg and your team for a wonderful tutorial.”

“I enjoyed this online workshop so much... I have purchased a lot of edits and training through MBL, but what I loved about this is how personal Meg got into not only the how she does what she does, but WHY. There were so many "a ha!" moments in these videos, and so many useful things that will stick with me while venture off into my own sessions. Thank you!”

“THE BEST! Watching Meg in action is by far one of the BEST learning experiences for any photographer. If you haven't had the luxury of attending one of her workshops in person (you should if you haven't), this is the next best thing. She shares all of her wisdom, techniques & her thought processes along the way. In addition you then get to see the final product when she edits which is worth more than its weight in gold. I am such a 'meg believer'... I have attended a few of her workshops and Meg cares...she cares about what you need and does her best to incorporate your needs somehow into the workshop. I've watched this video a few times, watched many of her edits over & over and there is no question, that I am a much better photographer in many ways because of Meg. It isn't just about what you do with your camera, how to pose, the clothes, & location but having a vision of what you want to see on your screen and making that happen...that's what Meg is all about. If you are here reading this review, I highly suggest you push the 'add to cart' button & make this purchase. Seeing is believing....you will be taken on an awesome Meg Journey...what could be better than that?”
— Renee Bello
“Absolutely amazing! This is one of Meg's earlier workshops and she very clearly explains how to find the light and pose subjects in the most natural way - and quickly yet too! An absolute must watch!!”
— Lee-Anne Cowling
“Magic in the Forest is a valuable tool in that you can learn the obvious - taking photos of beautifully dressed children in a special environment - - but it also can be translated into other formats. You can take the same skills that you learn here and use them when shooting families or other more casual situations as well. Not only that but if you combine this with Magic in the Details and you have an opportunity to be in nature to just relax and enjoy your camera and creativity WITHOUT any people you can truly get back to basics and create beautiful art. Watch it more than once to glean the little things you miss the first few times!”
— Rebecca Myers
“Loved this! I’ve wanted it for a long time and finally snatched it up. Such an amazing experience!”
— Kelly Tiliakos
“Absolutely wonderful! So much information and Meg is truly remarkable in her ability to teach and inspire. I keep returning to this workshop to watch it over and over and pick up something new each time. It has definitely made me feel more confident in the way I shoot. I am a quiet person naturally, and I love to wait for special moments when shooting kids. Candids are my favorite.. I have self-doubted for a long time based on what I perceive to be client's expectations. I have taken a break from shooting clients to focus on what drove me to photography in the first place. Meg has absolutely inspired me to hold on to my dream and live it the way I want to. I would buy every single video edit and workshop she offers if I could. Her desire to truly want to help others do what they love the way they want to do it is a testament to the remarkable person she is. Magic in Forest was worth every penny- and months later continues to be a powerful tool in my arsenal of not only photography and photoshop knowledge, but personal growth as well.”
